The event began with a brief history of NCNW and their mission which is to lead, empower and advocate for women of African descent, their families and communities.

The moment was empowering and provoking for the Jacksonville Section NCNW Inc. members as they soaked in a deep level of wisdom along with profound knowledge that was delivered by their vary own National Chair of NCNW, Inc. Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole.
The Jacksonville Section of NCNW, Inc. traveled to Birmingham, AL and Historic Selma, AL to commemorate the 55th Anniversary of the march known as “Bloody Sunday” that was held March 1, 1965.
